April 2019 - Still Going Strong!
Hello from the Board of Directors of the Romeoville Humane Society. 2019 marks our 10 Year Anniversary of service Romeoville and the surrounding communities. As much as it has been a privlige to be able to say we have been around for 10 years, we would not be here if it were not for you, our dedicated members, volunteers, and supporters!
We would like to continue to service this community, and we are asking that you, yes you, getinvolved. As always, we are seeking foster homes for the many animals that need to be pulled from animal control facilities and are abandoned by their previous owners. We want to remind you that although we are continuing to save us funds for a building of our own, until that happens we need fosters to operate. Please consider opening your home to a pet that just wants to be loved.
Thank you for a wonderful ten years and we look forward to the next 10!
January 4th, 2018 - HAPPY NEW YEAR!
In 2017 we saw the continued effects of a slow economy with many pets surrendered and less adoptions than usual. Despite the challenges faced, we are happy and thankful to have helped place 129 animals in their furever homes.
2018 brings another new year and more exciting things to come... we are pleased that our newly formed Fundraising Committee has been on quite a roll and done a great job scheduling events and assisting with funding our many needs in various areas. We hope all the events planned this year can generate more awareness, get our name out there far and wide attracting new fosters and adopters, and of course taking in more animals and vetting them in preparation for adoption. We look forward to a positive increase in animals assisted this year.

November 1st, 2017 - EXCITING NEWS!
This year we have been able to start up with more fundraising efforts again. We are very pleased to welcome Christine as our new Fundraising Chair, and Janet as our Fundraising Secretary. Both have been instrumental with getting this in gear and we are happy to have them aboard. Great things are to come with these go-getting ladies!
As our Fundraising Committee kicks off in high gear, monthly fundraising meetings have now been scheduled. Meetings will be held the 2nd Wednesday of each month. The first scheduled meeting will be Wed, Nov 8th, at 8pm at the Romeoville Recreation Center located at 900 W. Romeo Road. We expect meeting to run approx one hour. Check back each month for the meeting time and location to be sure neither have changed.
WE WANT YOU! We need to grow our committee in order to remain successful and continue to assist so many animals in need.
You are invited to attend a meeting to learn how you can help in these fundraising efforts, or bring any new ideas you may have to the table. We want to hear from you! Bring a friend - the more the merrier!
We look forward to seeing you - either at a meeting, at an event, or both! As always, thank you for your continued support!
May 16th 2017 - Our New Look
YES, as you can see we have launched our new website! Please bear with us while we work through the bugs and get everything in tip top order! Thank you for your patience!
Sadly we no longer occupy the Adoption Center at Petco in Romeoville. If you visited our cats there in the past, please be sure to visit them at our PetSmart location in Joliet! If you dropped off donations for us at Petco in the past, they will no longer be accepting donations for us. Please check under the DONATE section for many more of our current drop off location options, there is one in every city near Romeoville so there should be one local to you.

January 1st 2014 - New Year, New RHS!
Well, it has been a big year of changes! Romeoville Humane Society continues to evolve an grow. We would first like to welcome a few new board members; Katie Aseves, Kim Jankovsky, and Karri Tegner have joined our board as Members at Large. We would also like to congratulate Charlotte Weberling-Soakup who has moved from her former position as Member at Large to Vice President.
This year saw many adoptions. Check out our Happy Tails and our Facebook Page for stories of the lives we saved. Thank you to all who have supported us, we look forward to many more years of rescue!
July 28th 2012 - Successes!
It has been a crazy couple of months! The Romeoville Humane Society has been seeing some exciting changes. We have a new board member, Anne Cox Briscoe who brings with her more rescue experience than the rest of the board combined! We have had many successful fundraisers that have grown our building fund and generated new help. A big thank you out to PetCo in Romeoville for hosting their first ever Mega Adoption event! It was a huge success and will be bigger and better next time! Stay tuned for all the wonderful changes in store for this organization.
